Sometimes a sign just strikes you as a little, well, odd. This happens frequently when it's a question of a dubious translation from the French to another language, in this case English of course.

If I remember correctly, the correct translation would be something like "All abandoned objects will be destroyed" which is quite logical and if they'd even done a word-for-word Google translation it would probably have been better than the slightly surreal message we see here.

You'd think when it was in such a visible place (under the Eiffel Tower) and so officially stated they'd have got someone to check it for sensibleness, wouldn't you? Still, keeps us expats mildly amused, I guess.
