iPhone Photo Chronicles
~ Swinging Shoe Stumper ~

i honestly don't know if it's considered artistic, or an effective way to reduce festering foot odour, or just a childish prank when you find yourself living opposite some mates, but this isn't the first time i've seen shoes and sneakers swaying in the breeze up high in Paris.
This was earlier today in Montmartre, and the other time was on the Butte aux Cailles, both hardcore artist areas, so maybe it's my first theory, but somehow i doubt it. The last thing i'd consider artistic would be my teeming trainers over people's heads.
i did a photo tour with a charming lady called Aarti this morning and was hoping she'd have an aartistic theory to help soothe my worrying mind; she didn't have a clue. Ideas, anyone?

Traditionally, in American culture, shoes hanging from telephone lines was the ominous welcome party for a rough neighborhood. As with all things the cool kids took the notion and ran with it, throwing sneakers without meaning. I suspect that your sightings are evidence of this cultural leeching, not artistic inspiration.
That's interesting Zomb. Didn't know that at all at all at all.
You're out of town, by the way, aren't you? Zagreb or something far like that, no? Howz it going? Well, I'll pop over to your neck of the web shortly and see.
the shoes over the telephone wires/ electricity wires indicates drug dealers and in some places a murder has occured - mmm i really need to get out more me thinks <3
