Don't Forget The Carrots

Time scuttles so swiftly by, I wonder how long it'll be before I'm looking whimsically back with a wistful eye on that balmy September day when Linda took it into her head to grab the reins of a bronze donkey on one of our Paris walks. Thirty years? Six months? Ten seconds? Perceptions of time can change, and if we're not careful, we sometimes get some unpleasant surprises.

With a stab of a finger I can make a photo whose pixels are still smouldering look as though it were taken half a century ago. Would that I could perform the same operation in reverse, without resorting to Photoshop or Botox. Not that I think it's a good idea mind.

The 'tox' in Botox stands for 'toxin' don't forget, which is cheerily defined as "An antigenic poison or venom of plant or animal origin, esp. one produced by or derived from microorganisms and causing disease when present at low concentration in the body" Oh yeah! Gimmie another one.

As for Photoshop, I consider it something of a dirty word in sentences such as "What Photoshop settings did you use?", as though there's an option in one of the menus labelled 'Sab'.

And as for holding back time, surely the answer has to be to make your present moments so interesting you forget to even look at your watch, never mind the wrinkles and grey hair.

Seems to be what Linda's doing and I envy people like her, but try to be inspired by them also. Surround yourself with young people and you'll feel young too, right? That's what I try to do, and Linda's one of the youngest people I know. Have a great Indian Summer, and don't forget the carrots!
