This has always been one of my favourite Paris graffiti (graffito? graffitis???). The jumping flute player (looking a bit like Ian Anderson from Jethro Tull) by Jef Aerosol.

I've been a bit cheeky here - can you see why? I've actually turned the image on its side so it looks like the musical chappy is standing upright, whereas in the original, with the right-hand side as the bottom, he's leaping joyfully through the air instead of just sticking his leg up.

The sinister but rather beautiful bird is a new addition since the last time I was in these parts.

What's amazing is that it's always changing. A few weeks ago this was all just blank wall apart from the flautist. And going back a few more months and there was other stuff up. Then they repainted the wall but left the musician visible, which is a pretty big compliment for street art these days.

It's in the Butte aux Cailles area, just off the Place d'Italie, an amazing place for graffiti, and for the record I have a piece at the other end of this little passage from the time when I was going to invade the Paris streets with 3x3 tiled creations. Ha hah! I'll start again one day. In the meantime, there's always Jef.

And why not...
