I made this my photo of the night, the other... night, and it got a TON of likes on the Paris If You Please Facebook page, so it obviously struck the right note.

As it should have, for it's truly splendid. The newly renovated clock, I mean, not my crumby little iPhone photo, obviously ;~S

So if you're in town around the Conciergerie / Sainte Chapelle area then do check it out. Here you see it at night, breath-taking as I said, and in the daylight truly magnificent - they've done a jolly good job; well done chaps!

Just for the record, it's on the appropriately named Tour de l'Horloge (clock tower, duh!) and is reputedly Paris' first public timepiece. The latest renovations, just finished last month, include a brand new gorgeous blue background to the lovely little gold emblems and if I hadn't already used up all the best adjectives I'd probably just go on and on about law and justice and Latin inscriptions goodness knows what else. Like I usually do.

It's cool, and boy am I glad to see those building-high advertising hoardings come down. And About Time Too! Months of slimy George Cluney Nespresso-or-was-it-Omega Dior Samsung Schming Schmung are about as much as I can take, despite them supposedly funding the actual restauration works...
