If you happened to be wandering around the Butte aux Cailles quarter of Paris yesterday, and stumbled over a couple of guys with expensive cameras scraping the ground and backsides in the air, looking suspiciously like they're getting extremely up-close-and-personal with a grime-encrusted drain cover... that would have been us.
i had the enjoyable experience of spending a few hours with a fellow photographer from Queensland, Australia, who seems to be as fixated with urban architecture and 'street furniture' as i am.
What a pleasure to be able to point out, somewhat self-consciously, an interesting juxtaposition between a drain pipe and and electricity junction box only to discover that he'd already got the shot and had something even more interesting to show me. And he paid me for doing so!
Life is good right now, and people are even better, and it's not every year i've been able to say that. Drain on!
