Paris and I ~ 'Ants In My Pants'

Ants In My Pants, originally uploaded by Paris Set Me Free.

"i'm ironing out the city
What went up, must come down
Will be filled in what's hollowed out
Hang the din and start the diggers
i'm your landscape sculpting clown"

That may or may not be part of a future poem in some form or other, inspired by this atmospheric view.

Looking down onto the boulevard Général Leclerc late into a dampish Saturday evening, people are still scuttling around the streets, sliding through cracks for succour then gobbled up by the gaping holes in the ground which lead to their lairs.

We're not 'like' ants; we ARE ants, social insects, living in colonies, discussing ideologies, forging allegiances, declaring loyalties.

Well, not quite. Forget the ideologies bit. Can you imagine how seriously gay pride or women's liberation or Nazism or football or smoking or the 35 hour week (not to mention retirement before death) or veganism or collecting china frogs would be taken in the ant world? You'd be laugh-kicked straight off the hill!

So no, in retrospect, we're not 'quite' like ants.
