Too Old To Smoke

The area along the Canal St. Martin, and in particular from Jaurès
metro to Parc de la Villette, is rich in architectural oddities and
photographic opportunities.

In fact, the area around the Basin de la Villette is a strange mixture
of stark modernity (the Cité de la Science, for example) and
industrial relics, such as some of the bridges and the chimney in this
picture.

i liked making the lamp post look far bigger than the chimney, and the
two 'mountain peaks' of the building corner and the gutters lend a
landscape feel to the composition.
