Paris and I ~ 'Pharaoh Nuff'

iPhone Photo Chronicles
~ Pharaoh Nuff ~

In the land of the measly one pyramid town, the multiple-peaked Paris is fairer, Pharaoh. And we've got an obelisk. A big one. As obelisks go.

Then we've got sphinx, and reliefs, an upside down pyramid (show me one of those anywhere between rue du Caire and the Nile), a metro station and, well, you could be forgiven for thinking we've got something of an Egypt 'fixation' on this side of the Med. Mind you, they do call Cairo the 'Paris of the Middle-East', so it's kind of reciprocal.

No doubt there are Egypt-related restaurants, relics and remnants I may never even discover, but that's all part of everyday Paris fun and frustration I guess.

I find myself despairing sometimes: the more I learn about the city, the more obvious it becomes that I'll never know it all, and just how very far I am from that ludicrous, Utopian goal.

Specialise; that's what they say. Divide and conquer. But what if you do want to specialise.. in Paris? I don't want to be 'the world expert on chocolate shops or Wallace fountains or bizarre battered Barbie reconstruction boutiques; I want it all!

I can't have it all, however. So I blog.
