Probably already posted a similar image here - as the months turn into years they're all starting to meeuurrggeee into one... - but not recently I think.

And anyway, it's always been one of my favourites. This from a photo tour I did yesterday on the slopes of Montmartre.

Always surprising how few people know about the 'I love you' wall, where this simple phrase is written in a huge number of languages, and visitors amuse themselves by rooting out their own and having their photos taken pointing at it and giggling... lovely, evidently.

You can check out my in-depth interview with the great guy (Jean Marc Paumier ~ Rue Meurt d'Art) who did the artwork you see above the 'official' wall which has now become an integral part of the experience, which would be immeasurably poorer without it.

Just for the record, there used to be another piece before Rita Hayworth - Ava Gardner I think - and you can see evidence of her passing in the picture above. She was leaning on a small table if that helps you work out the antishadow.

Funny how nothing lasts but often leaves traces nevertheless, at least for a season or two...

And why not...
