This is the sort of photo I hesitate to comment on because it's best you draw your own conclusions. Having said that, I like the stark and strange imagery in this shot.

It's another example, also, of how you should make sure the subject is the subject, or the story you're trying to tell is the shot, without extraneous nonsense getting in the way of the major theme.

Then again, there's a dissonance between the gaping mouthed bald chap and the hairier-than-hairy kid in the photo-within-a-photo. They don't seem to be looking at each other and indeed seem to come from different planets, almost, which of course they do. The strong diagonal red line insists upon this disjuncture.

And it's a bit funny too. Let's not forget that!
