Lawns stretching into the never-never as lonesome old ladies pass by young Turks without a care in the world. Who has a care in the world?

And why not...

This couple of fervent photographers fascinated me. There was something about their earnestness, and their eager tripods. Reminded me of me in a younger incarnation.

Purposefully off they strode, in search of another perfect Parisian pavementscape.

As for me, I've moved on to receding bums. Have I really progressed? You could effectively pose yourself the question. In any case, let the tale continue and I'll get back to you...

And why not...

Still offloading my pics from that Sunday afternoon when I wandered on down by the Seine checking out an open air exhibition of photos which has sprung up like mushrooms, to cringe a cliché.

Liked this black-clad lady against a backdrop of pure pink perfection. Whatever she was doing.

The bench is ancillary but still useful.

The red is red. The green's by nature.

The angle is all mine.

And why not...

There are two versions of this photo on my Flickr feed: the one you see here with her beautiful lips and nose just showing, and the other with them completely whited out.

The latter is an altogether lighter affair, but I decided to go with the one you see above. I didn't want to dehumanise the lady totally.

Although of course the original photographer was basically saying: this girl's breasts, as in 'This girl is / has breasts', and let's hope it'll sell us a few more murky mags. Even if it is Vogue. They're all the same.

The weirdest thing is that women on the front covers sell mags to women as much as they do to men. This is worrying. The message seems to be: women, this is the woman you have to be; men, this is the woman you have to see. Otherwise forget it. Like some huge industrial conspiracy.

It would be interesting to know how many Vogue magazines this crashing cleavage sold. Isn't there something bizarre going on here? Here here. Anyway...

And why not...

I'm terribly fond of these little gnomes' houses stuck on unsuspecting street corners. With unusual chappies inhabiting them. What would it be like to be a Paris kiosk keeper?

I've often wondered. They live in a bizarre hinterworld. In constant contact with humanity and yet... removed from the land.

At Alesia there are apparently four or five of the species. All inhabiting their own personal universes following their own precise orbit.

They hate people asking for directions. They love those who pass buy regularly.

They're part of the Paris tapestry. They're the kioskists. Watch out. There may be one near you as I speak.

Pass buy...

And why not...

I've been trying to work out what I could add to this photo. The lady rather speaks for herself. The tights go with the furry shoulders. Do the pink booties go with the red jacket? Only the fashion funsters will be able to tell us that. The hair's legendary. The dress is... blue.

I love her. As daring as the Eiffel Tower in her day.

And why not...
