Currently gracing the ground in front of the MKII cinema at the Bibliothèque François Mitterrand, a whole array of portraits whose origin and raison d'être I ignore for the time being.

Is it for I to wonder why (or just do and die) I wonder.

There's a huge poster for 'Cartel' (in French), the latest Brad Pitt and Co. vehicle, right next to them but I don't know if they're related.

But it makes for some serious pigeon scouring - they're looking a bit perplexed as they peck - and a jolly vista for those of us who stumble across them.

As you can see, they're already disintegrating so better catch them while you can.

Taken in the generally charming Jardin de Reuilly I tink it woz, a couple of gorgeous leaves with accompanying berries gracing a grizzled green trellis.

Autumn is fully upon us once again, folks, so I guess we'd better get used to it...

I've possibly overdone it a bit wit me processin' but there you go. The colours were loverly nevertheless. And THAT'S what counts.

This is the latest artistic endeavour to grace one of the four horrendous hideous high-rise national library buildings.

Granted, it's not finished but it soon will be, the poor dears, the last time I passed (this time) they were struggling away in their window cleaners' wallpod in grimly grizzly conditions.

Anyway, anything to cheer up these towers is welcome as far as I'm concerned. They've got to be good for something, after all...

A bit of fun high up in the newish design and fashion centre on the left bank in the 13th.

The funky orange chairs were part of some sort of design exhibition, apparently. The gorgeous green gridwork is part of the permanent structure which has been wowing people for the last little while.

(I remember enjoying squishing orange and green Opal Fruits together and chomping away like crazy just for the hell of it.)

And you've got a fairly nice view of the Seine to boot. It was raining. As it tends to be these days... saturates the colours nicely though...

On a rainy afternoon two of the most colourful travellers I've ever seen cycled by.

He had a light blue jacket and orange trousers and rucksack. She had a green jacket, purple rucksack and multicoloured trousers. They made quite a spectacle.

This is them receding on their way to who knows where. The greyness of the day just accentuated their colourfulness.

Fairly ironic, this bit of common graffiti you often see around beseeching you to 'look at the sky', while all you can see here is some pretty grim concrete beams, hehe.

We're actually on the banks of the Seine, in one of those faintly uneasy places where you suddenly realise there's no-one else around other than,oh yes, a group of dodgy looking guys lurking in an alcove which you're about to walk past and it's too late to turn back.

Anyway, nothing happened and this was the result; another piece of scrawl commemorated for posterity for what it's worth.

And I did check out the sky just shortly after. It was raining.

Like poor old Eiffel has here. Head in the clouds of a rainy November day, the likes of which we're seeing quite a lot at the moment.

It's a nearly suburban station, Javel, not the most glamorous of places. You can see the towers of Grenelle behind the train which are generally thought to be a disaster but some of them aren't too bad.

It takes its name, I believe, from a local manufacturing plant which produced the famous eau de javel, otherwise known as bleach for keeping your floors and toilets clean, and your clothes bleached too I presume.

It's also one of the best stops for hitting the Parc André Citroën which is well worth the detour.
